Watch SpaceX launch its record-breaking 133rd Falcon 9 mission of the year today

SpaceX was scheduled to break its own launch record with its 133rd Falcon 9 flight of the year, which launched on October 22, 2025.

  • Mission: The launch carried 28 of SpaceX's Starlink internet satellites to low Earth orbit (LEO).

  • Launch Time: Liftoff was scheduled for 10:16 a.m. EDT (1416 GMT; 7:16 a.m. local California time).

  • Launch Site: Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.

The Record-Breaking Milestone

This mission marked the 133rd Falcon 9 flight of 2025, successfully surpassing the 132 Falcon 9 launches the company performed in the previous year. Furthermore, it was the 138th overall launch for SpaceX in 2025, which tied the total company launch record (including all rocket types) set in 2024.

Booster Reuse

The Falcon 9 first stage booster used for the mission, designated Booster 1075, was an experienced veteran. This flight was its 21st launch and touchdown.

  • Previous Missions: The booster had previously flown missions including SDA-0A, SARah-2, Transporter-11, and 17 prior Starlink missions.

  • Recovery: The first stage was scheduled to return to Earth about 8.5 minutes after liftoff, landing in the Pacific Ocean on the drone ship "Of Course I Still Love You."

Mission Profile

The rocket's upper stage continued carrying the Starlink satellites to LEO, where they were deployed approximately one hour after launch.

Recent Milestones

The 133rd flight came shortly after a series of other recent company milestones, including a day earlier (Oct. 19) when SpaceX launched two Falcon 9 missions. One of those missions lofted the 10,000th Starlink satellite to orbit, and the other featured a Falcon 9 booster that completed a record-breaking 31st flight.
